The first Nordic and Baltic classical music industry meeting

The first Nordic and Baltic classical music industry meeting organised by Latvijas Koncerti with support from the Latvian Ministry of Culture, the Nordic Council of Ministers and the Danish Institute of Culture will take place in Riga, 19 – 21 February 2013. Classical Nordic – Baltic 2013 will include a conference for classical music industry professionals and artistic showcases of the most exciting regional artists.

Artistic showcases supplement conference discussions by providing a venue for discovering new talents of the Nordic and Baltic countries. Young artists will present themselves to regional professionals of the classical music industry. In turn, for artistic directors, producers and managers this will be a chance to hear and meet new soloists and ensembles. About 20 performing units from the Nordic and Baltic countries are selected for these showcases, which will also include video presentations of larger projects. 
All delegates of the Classical Nordic – Baltic 2013 conference will be invited to attend The Great Latvian Music Award 2012 ceremony on February 19. This annual award is the highest honour for achievements in classical music awarded by the Latvian State.
